PoE6

The HGL PoE6 unit provides a rack mountable (via removable Rack Mount Ears) Power over Ethernet (PoE) 6 port injector system where each port is independent of its neighbours and provides remote control and network segment extension via a built-in 3 port switch and CPU.

The PoE6 is fully IEEE 802.3bt (90W) compatible and can be used to power any current class of PoE capable device.

Each port includes an ARM F-series CPU which can be configured for DHCP or fixed IP Address and which allows simple control of its specific port to turn the power on or off remotely.

Each port of the unit includes a 3-port network switch to provide access to the CPU but which also provides the capability to extend the network segment by a further 100m. This switch is also PTP (IEEE1588) transparent allowing the PoE6 to be used in large scale synchronised Data Acquisition systems in large test scenarios.

Features

6 Independent IEEE 802.3bt Ports

Each port is capable of supplying the full IEEE 802.3bt 100W power to an attached device. Note that the maximum power available on the powered device is usually limited to 75W due to line losses and power conversion efficiencies.

Remote Control

Each PoE port can be remotely controlled to turn its power provision capability on or off. The interface uses HGL’s standard network API (see data sheet for details).

Software

HGL provides a simple to use PC Software Application which provides intuitive GUI control for one or more PoE6 units on a network and allows full control / monitoring of each PoE6 port

Flexible Power

Supports 100-250V ac 50/60Hz supplies via a rear mounted IEC602 socket. Options are available for other (rugged) sockets and power options (including DC 24/28V)

Environmental

The standard unit (pictured) is designed to be used in relatively harsh environments and uses waterproof RJ45 connectors. For harsher environments HGL can provide options with full sealing and LEMO network connectors.

Conduction Cooled

Conduction cooled through innovative internal design and materials.
Able to operate accurately from -30 to +50C.
